I believe that to sustain democracy, people must vote on who they like even though such candidates have no way to win election.
This is like market signal that determine medium term responses of political parties to address the needs and feelings of their voters. This will force changes in fixations of many parties, especially those that are lost.
After all , the hall mark of democracy is to protect the rights and opinions of minority, no matter how small. To vote base on fear of losing could not lead to stronger democracy , even the vote that results dictatorship can lead to better democracy in the long run if the society learn and adapt as in many countries in Europe had experienced.
So vote for whoever you believe is the key for the democratic future.
