In the last 10 years I’ve been working in social sector. Social sector financing in Thailand is getting from bad to worst, more and more rules and restrictions that do not bring in any real effectiveness or efficiency, yet hindering more and more creativity, innovation and boldness.
As a person whose job includes major role in fund-raising, things are not getting easier and trust doesn’t really lead to better partnering relationship.
The donors and funders seem to think of themselves as more rational, intellectual and process-oriented when in reality they are taking much less risk, how can they ever hope for breakthrough in creating scalable impact in Thai society?
I guess we to reinvent social financing, bringing new models and a completely new set of players or to accept that the cost structure, to maintain competent workforce in the medium to longer run, is no longer feasible to only work in Thailand.
